DAM SAFETY WORKS
Rous Water is undertaking work to upgrade the embankment of Rocky Creek Dam so that it meets current dam safety standards. The contract has been let to a Victorian firm, Entracon Pty Ltd, and they are expected to be on-site on 27 July 2009. The main element of the work comprises the removal of the top section of the dam and replacement with a water proof concrete and earth structure. The work is expected to take 6 months and must be undertaken during the drier months of the year to protect the dam from damage due to flooding. During the construction period the dam and park will be closed to the public, sorry for any inconvenience.
